Let us walk with you to meet death with openness and compassion, creating room for life to shine brightly through you.

"Let your heart be the place where everything is allowed to arrive."
— Andrea Gibson

Jade Hering
RN, OCN
Jade is an oncology certified nurse and her professional background spans inpatient oncology care, outpatient chemotherapy administration, and nurse navigation for a bone marrow transplant program. Jade brings deep clinical knowledge and a compassionate, grounded presence to those facing serious illness and transition. Jade is currently working as a hospice nurse at Hopewell House, a house for the dying in SW Portland. She also volunteers supporting patients through utilizing Medical Aid in Dying in Oregon, and is trained as a Death Doula through Going with Grace. Death work is sacred to her. Caring for people at the end of life — really seeing it, feeling it, touching it, in every stage — has taught her that death is for sure certain, and being present in this truth has allowed her to fall deeply in love with living. Her passion is helping others bring mortality to the forefront to allow for a richer human experience.
Credentials & Roles

Jordan Amali
MPH
2 minutes younger than Jade, Jordan is a trained Death Doula (also through Going with Grace) with a Masters degree in Public Health. Her background is in strategic planning and management supporting healthcare organizations. A hospice and grief work volunteer for the past decade, she is currently a Hospice Coordinator, and is constantly moved by the fact death is the greatest equalizer. Yet in America we tend to hide from death and our social ecosystems fail to support this inevitable part of life. Acknowledging death, planning for death, and embracing life in the face of death is truly revolutionary work that can change how you engage in every little thing.
